I love my new job

My new job pays well. At least for a student. And since I live at home my main expense is school. But even putting the majority of my income away for more school I still have left overs enough to buy new toys. Today was payday, so I went by Atic and picked up the 2 sets of KVM cables they had on hold for me. Now 4 of my computers (Kvasir, Frost, Janus, and Snow) all share the same monitor, keyboard and mouse. It's pretty cool.

But that's not all. I've been annoyed at Azureus for a while for being written in Java. Because it's such a hog. When ever I load it up to do downloads I start swapping to the harddrive. It's lame and slows everything down. Well, today I also picked up a 1GB stick of RAM for Inferno, my desktop and that should no longer be a problem. Inferno goes from 512MB to 1GB (motherboard max rating of 1GB, the old ram will be distributed amongst my other computers). Now running folding@home and azureus and what ever else I deem worth of my time should not make a noticeable difference. Huzzah! (note, this is the first time I've had to turn on the high ram support in the kernel ;)
