Windows fails to use my Cell as a USB mass storage device

Well, I'm a little more unimpressed with Windows today. I tried to plug my cell phone in via USB to several computers at school today but they all asked for the administrator's password so they could install drivers/software. Mounting my cell as a USB mass storage device under Linux was easy and automatic. I plug it in and done. Apparently for some reason it's not the same with Windows. Can't figure out why but how lame is that. The Utopia stack and the have it 'Just Work' mantra are really starting to pay off big time for the Linux desktop. I'm now quite impressed.
