Well, I set up Vino and got tightvnc working with my desktop. Very cool. I can stil in the living room and stream my desktop to my laptop. Or school. So that's handy.
I also started using Evolution's mail filtering. It's already had an effect. It could almost be a problem since I use Imap so the mail stays on the server but the filtering is done on my desktop but I never close Evo so even if I log in through SquirrelMail evo should still be filtering my mail. So that's nifty.
I also wrote a xmlrpc based IP address/host tracker app for theobon so he won't loose computers on the net when he reboots and forgets his IP. They'll automatically check in and leave their IP address for him and only him (login protected). Eventually I'll write a module to generate bind configs so this can be used to keep DNS info for dynamic hosts. Fun.
I also inherited Crash, my family's old computer and put Fedora 4 on it. So far for the little I've used it it doesn't blow. I also got Frost back up and running with a spare harddrive from when I bought Janus and OpenBSD, so my family will havea a firewall when I leave.
I've started puting some of my hardware's histor on the mindstab wiki at www.mindstab.net/wiki/index.php/Computers.
