Family explained

Been taking it easy last few days. Tomorrow adventure starts again. I should be journeying off with Javier's sisters family for a day or two to Isla Holbosh.

And some of you have expressed confusion over who's who in the family here. So let me try to break it down.

I'm staying with Daniela's family. Her mother is Yolanda, and has 4 siblings, 2 of whom are Socorro and Fernando. They are a Colombian family, though Daniela's parents moved to Ecuador, and now Guatemala following her father's work. Socorro married Javier, a Mexican and lives in Mexico now. Javier lives out here in Puerto Morelos with Fernando, and Socorro spends a lot of time in Mexico City where her work is (she's a script writer and Javier is a web programmer). Javier is also Daniela's godfather. Claudia is Javier and Socorro's daughter in law and Juan Fransisco is her son, and their grandson.

Make more sense now? :)

It's a still stormy today though, which is kind of nice. I enjoy a good storm every now and again. :)

Colombian Independace day and Batman

The Colombia independence day event was at the Raddison in Cancun. Fernando got himself hired as a chef consultant of sorts since all the chefs preparing the meal were Mexican, he consulted and directed to make sure the meal was more authentically Colombian. He'd gone to Cancun a few times in the last week and they had a dry run on Saturday that he was very pleased with. Anyways we went and didn't see much of him until the meal was served as he was busy, but it was delicious. Everyone thought so and I think he was quite pleased with how well it turned out.

Then we went to Javier's sister's place since we were in Cancun and hung out for a bit and then they headed home but I went with one of the daughters to meet up with her friends and go see Batman. They were all really nice and spoke splendid English. Most embarrassing :P. But nice. The movie was long, but pretty damn awesome. I was pleased. It was in English with Spanish subtitles so I lucked out.

Then they dropped me off at the bus depot and I caught a bus back to Puerto Morelos, which cost less than $2. Nice.
